Writing by Victoria Daniel

Ode to the River Rushing, riveting You are Relaxing as your ripples recite poetry I revel as I recall the way you move like silky ribbon, The times that you reinvigorated my raspy breath To match the resonance of yours I envy you You glitter like blue rhinestones And roads race to rival you Yet they can never run the same routes as you Rabbits rave and robins tweet To the soothing ringing that you replay Over and over A rhythm rich and romantic It makes me feel like royalty Regal Revived Raw As my heart refuses to go anywhere You aren’t in reach —Victoria Leigh
